BAYCATS ANNOUNCE 25TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON SCHEDULE

Barrie, ON – The Barrie Baycats are excited to announce their 25th Anniversary season schedule. The Baycats will begin their quest to repeat as Intercounty Baseball League Champions on May 15th when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs for their home opener.

The Baycats will be play a 42-game schedule with 21 home games and 21 road games. This season, the league has moved most of it’s games to occur from Thursday to Monday, significantly reducing the number of games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This will result in a few matchups on holiday Monday’s.

Barrie will once again have a Canada Day matchup at Labatt Park in London and will also play on the final day of the regular season at home against the Majors. Due to the new schedule strategy, the Baycats will play a Friday night game at Christie Pits on July 4th as opposed to playing three Wednesday nights games in Toronto in previous years.

The Maple Leafs and Brantford Red Sox remain the two teams Barrie will play six times with the other six facing the Cats five times. This year, the Baycats will have a three game weekend series in Chatham-Kent from June 20th-22nd like they did last year, reducing the number of long trips.
