22U Baycats Announce 2025 coaching staff
Barrie, ON – The 22U Baycats and manager Jeremy Uylenbroek have announced the team’s coaching staff for its inaugural season. Meyer Shemtov (assistant coach) and Tim Tremblay (assistant coach) will join Uylenbroek on the 22U coaching staff.
“I am extremely happy and honored to announce these two gentlemen as coaches [for the 22U Baycats] team,” said Uylenbroek. The 22U Baycats manager coached with Shemtov before and said he was an immediate candidate for one of the coaching positions.
“When I first got myself into coaching years ago, Meyer was there and was a mentor to me,” he said. “His knowledge of the game is right up there with anyone in the province [and] his attitude and skill set is a welcomed addition.”
“I'm thrilled to be joining the [22U Baycats] team as an assistant coach and working with a talented group of young up-and-coming ballplayers,” said Shemtov. “I look forward to helping our players develop both on and off the field and seeing what they can accomplish this season. Spring can't come soon enough—I can't wait to get started!”
Tremblay was present at the Baycats first winter workout last Saturday. He expressed his excitement in joining the 22U Baycats and was quick to touch on the winning culture of the organization.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity,” Tremblay said. “I’ve always been a fan, a player and a coach [and] I look forward to coaching alongside Jeremy Uylenbroek this year. His knowledge and passion for baseball follows him wherever he goes. So naturally when he asked me to join the coaching staff, it was an easy decision.”
“Tim’s presence and attitude is exactly what we needed to round out this staff,” Uylenbroek said. “Tim is a passionate person that always gives everything he has to what he does.”
IBL Baycats Athletic Therapist Katerina Xindaris and Medical Director Rick Schaly have also been added to the 22U staff
The 22U Baycats are expected to announce their home opener within the coming days.
